From 18 to 20 April, Catarina Marques, researcher from Data Analytics group from BRU-Iscte and researcher on the kNOwHATE project, attended JOCLAD 2024 – XXXI Conference on Data Classification and Analysis, which took place at the School of Technology and Management of the Polytechnic of Leiria.
The researcher presented the main results of the kNOwHATE project in her paper entitled: “How discursive phenomena and rhetorical mechanisms influence negative emotions?” by Catarina Marques, Rita Guerra, Paula Carvalho, Rodrigo Sarroeira, António Fonseca, Fernando Batista, Ricardo Ribeiro and Sérgio Moro.
The kNOwHATE consortium, funded by the Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values programme, aims at offering an innovative, comprehensive, participatory, and culturally sensitive approach to analyze, detect, and counter, direct and indirect OHS in Portuguese language.
Catarina Marques is involved in Work Package 3 – Data collection, pre-processing and annotation, more specifically in Task 3.5 – Statistical Analysis. In addition, BRU’s science communication staff is in charge of the Task 1.5 – Communication and Dissemination Strategy.
