A Business Research Unit (BRU-Iscte ou Unidade de Investigação em Desenvolvimento Empresarial – UNIDE), sediada no Iscte Conhecimento e Inovação (Iscte CI-CVTT), foi criada em 1994 e é acreditada pela FCT, tendo obtido a classificação de Excelente na última avaliação.

A BRU-Iscte procura conduzir investigação de acordo com os mais elevados padrões internacionais, seguindo as melhores práticas éticas, ao mesmo tempo que promove a inovação e um impacto positivo na sociedade.

Esta missão assenta em quatro pilares fundamentais: potenciar um ambiente de investigação internacional multidisciplinar; promover investigação e inovação de ponta; criar condições para o desenvolvimento de investigadores de alta qualidade nas áreas das ciências empresariais; e assegurar impacto social e práticas éticas.

Com base nos principais resultados obtidos nos últimos anos, e em consonância com a sua missão, a BRU-Iscte identificou uma série de objetivos estratégicos para o período 2025-2029, com vista a contribuir para o desenvolvimento de investigadores em início de carreira e de doutorandos, diversificar as fontes de financiamento, manter a excelência dos resultados da investigação, promover a internacionalização e as vias de inovação, gerando simultaneamente impacto social.

The Business Research Unit (BRU-Iscte, or Unidade de Investigação em Desenvolvimento Empresarial – UNIDE), based at Iscte Conhecimento e Inovação (Iscte CI-CVTT), was established in 1994 and is accredited by the FCT, having been awarded a rating of Excellent in the most recent evaluation.

BRU-Iscte seeks to conduct research in line with the highest international standards, following best ethical practices, whilst promoting innovation and a positive impact on society.

This mission rests on four fundamental pillars: fostering a multidisciplinary international research environment; promoting cutting-edge research and innovation; creating the conditions for the development of high-quality researchers in the business sciences; and ensuring social impact and ethical practices.

Building on the key results achieved in recent years, and in line with its mission, BRU-Iscte has identified a series of strategic objectives for the 2025-2029 period, aimed at contributing to the development of early-career researchers and doctoral students, diversifying funding sources, maintaining excellence in research outputs, and promoting internationalisation and innovation pathways, whilst generating social impact.
