Following last year’s Horizon Europe MSCA Post-Doctoral Fellowships call, one of the applications with BRU as the host institution was successful. As a result, we will welcome Dr. Ana Gardasevic from Montenegro in July, to carry the project “TOURSUS-EU – Assessing Tourism Sustainability in the EU Region: A Quantitative Approach“. The project will be supervised by Sandra Loureiro, coordinator of the Marketing Group.

The TOURSUS-EU proposal is designed to contribute to the definition of and the transition to a more sustainable model of tourism, intending to introduce a new approach to measuring the impact of mass tourism on the economy and society, which is one of the major issues of the EU. More precisely, the main aim of TOURSUS-EU is to examine and propose a range of analytical methods and quantitative indicators that can be used for the measurement and assessment of economic, social, and ecological sustainability of tourism in the EU region, with special reference on important tourist destinations listed in the UNESCO World Heritage sites (Venice, Lisbon and Split).
