BRU-Iscte presented two activities that highlighted the excellence and impact of its research.

Empower: Design and evaluation of technological support tools to empower stakeholders in digital education

One of the highlighted activities was the interactive demonstration of the serious game EmotiFest and the EMPOWER gaming platform. Developed based on empirical evidence, EmotiFest offers personalized support for the development of emotional skills in children with neurodevelopmental disorders (NDDs). Futurália participants had the opportunity to experience the game and learn about the principles of the EMPOWER platform, which can be implemented in educational settings. This initiative was led by the EMPOWER project team, funded by the European Commission through the Horizon Europe program, consisting of Diana Stiwell and Sara Lopes.

ImAFUSA: Virtual Reality for the Future of Urban Mobility

The ImAFUSA project, represented by James Mcleod, presented a Virtual Reality tool that simulates the implementation of drones for various applications in European cities, such as transportation, logistics, and medical emergencies. This project, funded by the European Commission – HORIZON JU Research and Innovation Actions, demonstrates the potential of technology to transform urban mobility.

BRU-Iscte’s participation in Futurália 2025 reinforces the unit’s commitment to sharing knowledge, promoting excellent research, and bringing science closer to society.
