WISE-AI is a gamified learning experience that introduces young women to Artificial Intelligence through storytelling, problem-solving, and real-world challenges linked to sustainability and employability.
In the course of the project, the team developed a Minecraft Education game playable on multiple operating systems, spanning 5 core game levels, that was designed for Critical Thinking leading players to analyse data, question AI outputs, solve problems, and make ethical decisions. The game introduces Artificial Intelligence through 5 key learning areas: AI Fundamentals – what AI is (and isn’t); AI Ethics & Responsibility – fairness, transparency, accountability; AI Skills & Critical Thinking – analysing data, correcting AI errors; AI Applications – healthcare, education, media, sustainability; and Inclusive & Ethical AI – bias, representation, and social impact.
WISE-AI connects AI learning with global challenges, focusing on: SDG 5 – Gender Equality; SDG 6 – Clean Water & Sanitation; SDG 13 – Climate Action; SDG 7 – Affordable & Clean Energy; and SDG 17 – Partnerships for the Goals.
Key highlights of the game
Gamified learning techniques:
- Narrative-driven gameplay (story unfolds level by level)
- Problem-based missions and challenges
- Interactive puzzles and simulations
- Decision-making with visible consequences
- Progress tracking through an in-game digital tool
- Guided exploration instead of passive learning
Learning is never solitary:
- Players interact with AI systems, virtual characters, and simulated stakeholders — reinforcing collaboration and reflection.
Positive AI Representation:
- AI is presented as a tool for good, supporting inclusion, sustainability, and social progress.

Knowledge Portal
The WISE-AI Knowledge Portal is the central learning space of the WISE-AI project. It is designed to help young women and educators build confidence in Artificial Intelligence (AI), understand its ethical and societal role, and explore how AI can support the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and future employability.
