The drone market is growing fast, but turning innovative ideas into successful businesses isn’t always easy. Many small companies and young entrepreneurs have strong technical skills but often lack the business guidance and practical tools needed to grow sustainably. That’s why SME-Rise: Business Modelling Skills for Drone Entrepreneurs has officially started, with the project kicking off this month.

This new Erasmus+ project supports SMEs, startups, and young entrepreneurs who want to build or scale drone-based services. The project focuses on practical learning, real market needs, and accessible tools that help turn potential into real impact.

Through the project, we will:

  • support entrepreneurship and business skills in the drone sector
  • offer hands-on learning opportunities using modern digital tools
  • create easy-to-use resources and an online space for learning and collaboration
  • help professionals upskill and adapt in a fast-changing digital economy

BRU-Iscte is proud to serve as project coordinator and to contribute across key activities, including the development of Virtual Environment Training Sessions and the project’s online learning platform. The project’s outputs will be integrated into Iscte’s academic programmes and training environments, ensuring lasting impact beyond the project and strengthening our role in innovation, skills development, and knowledge transfer in the drone sector.

The project includes partners from across Europe to strengthen innovation and entrepreneurship in this growing sector: Future Needs (Cyprus), European Progress (Greece), Instituto Pedro Nunes (Portugal), and Spotin (Greece).
