The Ph.D. in Management specialization in Quantitative Methods applied to Management is structured around three objectives:

1. Through an important school part, to provide Ph.D. students a range of knowledge and skills so that they can develop independent, skilled and innovative research;
2. To encourage and support Ph.D. students in publicizing the results of their research through the presentation of papers at conferences as well as the publication of articles in magazines;
3. To promote solid professional perspectives.

Because:

1. Integrative understanding. Students are expected to master the research tools and related diagnostics at the end of their doctoral studies due to the systematic knowledge they will be exposed to throughout the program;
2. Critical analysis. Students are expected to critically analyze other researchers’ ideas, interventions and research and suggest ways to overcome the limitations identified;
3. Present findings. Throughout the program, students will be encouraged to present, promote and defend the results of their research within the academic community and participate in the scientific publication of their work with a wider public;
4. Produce research. Students will be closely supervised in order to design, plan and implement research plans that, according to management methodological standards and ethics, are considered valid and important contributions to the development of scientific knowledge, therefore publishable in scientific journals of the specialty.
