Overview
The Data Analytics group carries out research in collection and analysis of statistical data, developing and applying state of the art methodologies. The focus is on regular interdisciplinary collaboration with researchers from other BRU-Iscte groups and from other research centres. Partnerships with companies and organisations often take place.

Main Achievements
A new multicollinearity diagnostic measure (the CVIF) that is now included in the MCTEST (2016) R package.
Management of the whole auditing sampling process in the SIPTA project (Portuguese Auditing software).
A dynamic stochastic model for the optimal timing of a treatment switch for use on patients with uncertain medical outcomes.
Contribution to the methodology of mobile market surveys, by introducing efficient contact strategies to increase response rate. This topic is quite novel and little research has been done on it.
Partnering with healthcare institutions (Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Lisboa and Ministry of Health) for the development and subsequent implementation of a patient classification system in hospitals, healthcare units and nursing homes, for more efficient financing purposes.
Involvement in the aQeduto project: evaluation, quality and equity in education – a joint initiative of the National Education Council and Francisco Manuel dos Santos Foundation. This project contributed to public debate in the field of education regarding the factors responsible for the positive results Portugal has achieved in PISA (Program for International Student Assessment) over the last fifteen years.
Organization of 23rd Congress of the Portuguese Statistical Society – SPE 2017.
