BRU-Iscte researcher Sandra Costa published the research paper (ABS4) Psychological contract breach and employee health: a critical review, exploratory meta-analysis and future research agendaco-authored by Jacqueline Coyle-Shapiro and Pedro Neves, on the work developed in the Project EWRI: Exploitative working relationships: Impact on employees’ health and behaviors.

The paper reviews the theories behind, and statistically combines evidence from 42 studies of over 23,000 employees to show, how breaking the unwritten ‘psychological contract’ between employer and employee can harm workers’ physical and mental health.
