The Erasmus+ project NATURE FUTURES: Nature-Based Higher Education for Environment Resilience held the first transnational project meeting this week (January 26 and 27) in Copenhagen, Denmark.

The project coordinator Aalborg University (Denmark), represented by Georgios Triantafyllidis and Janhvi Sampat, welcomed the group to the AAU Copenhagen campus for a two-day event that included focused meetings, a workshop on Nature-based Solutions and a campus visit.

Representing partner Columbus (France) were Daniel Samoilovich and Kelly Henao, from University of Turin (Italy) were Marina Marchisio Conte and Cecilia Fissore, and from Iscte (Portugal) was BRU-Iscte researcher Catarina Roseta Palma. Joining online was BRU-Iscte Science Manager Mafalda Casais.

The NATURE FUTURES project aims to integrate Nature-based Solutions and Citizen Science into higher education, enhancing sustainability education, interdisciplinary collaboration, and learning. It seeks to equip students and educators with practical tools, develop systemic thinking through digital models, and create strategic roadmaps for institutional adoption. The project fosters engagement with stakeholders, aligning universities with climate action and EU sustainability goals.
