Iscte – University Institute of Lisbon has been honored with the European Commission’s ‘HR Excellence in Research‘ award, a testament to its commitment to the professional development and well-being of its researchers.
Iscte’s receipt of this distinction marks a significant milestone, making it the first Portuguese university to achieve this prestigious recognition, previously limited to one faculty and nine research laboratories in Portugal. This award underscores Iscte’s pioneering role in elevating scientific standards within higher education and acknowledging the pivotal contribution of researchers to its academic objectives
“This distinction is highly significant for a University like Iscte, which views Higher Education as an essential pillar of national scientific activity,” says Jorge Costa, Vice-Rector for Research and Technological Modernisation.
BRU-Iscte’s engagement in international collaborative projects has significantly propelled Iscte’s research internationalization efforts, aligning its activities with the highest European benchmarks for research quality.
