On 18 June 2024, BRU-Iscte hosted the second public workshop of the Interreg Euro-MED project SMITour. Chaired by BRU-Iscte researcher Álvaro Dias and co-hosted with Maria José Sousa (local coordinators), the workshop ‘Challenges and opportunities of Industrial Tourism in Portugal’ discussed success stories and case studies, with contributions from Turismo de Portugal, Universidade Lusófona, the Pinhais Cannery Museum, and Iscte-IPPS. On the following day, the partners visited the Michel Giacometti Museum of Labour in Setúbal and the Mourisca tide mill in the Sado Estuary Natural Reserve, with the support of Entidade Regional de Turismo da Região de Lisboa.
