Psychosocial Risks at Work
In November 2018, BRU-Iscte signed a collaboration agreement with ACT – Autoridade para as Condições do Trabalho (Portuguese Authority for Work Conditions) to implement a project on the evaluation of psychosocial risks at work. This project is being developed by researcher Sílvia Silva from the Organizational Behavior & Human Resources Research Group.

Participation in a public debate on the Challenges of the European Union
On 19th June 2018, Economics group researcher, Sandro Mendonça, participated in a public debate at Culturgest Auditorium on the Challenges of the European Union, with a presentation on “Innovation, Digital Europe, Employment, Growth and Competitiveness”. This was part of an ongoing conference cycle by bank Caixa Geral de Depósitos in collaboration with the European Institute.

Debate about “Equity between men and women”
On 22nd May 2018, Ana Patrícia Duarte, participated in the debate about “Equity between men and women”, talking about what companies are doing to promote gender equity in the scope of their corporate social responsibility policies. This debate was part of a series of informal gatherings organised by ISCTE-IUL, the “Ciclo Tertúlias – A falar é que a gente se entende”, where relevant and current societal topics are discussed bringing academia closer to society.

Produce a Barometer of Temporary Work in Portugal in 2018
Researchers from the Economics group, Nádia Simões and Nuno Crespo, collaborated with APESPE-RH –the Portuguese Association of Private Sector Enterprises in Employment and Human Resources, to produce a Barometer of Temporary Work in Portugal. In 2018, our researchers prepared monthly reports concerning the evolution of the temporary employment in Portugal, using the data from the main firms of the sector.

Social Responsibility Impact
In 2018, Nelson Ramalho, researcher from the Organizational Behavior & Human Resources group, was responsible for the design of scientific procedures and methods in an applied research project targeting the evaluation of social responsibility impact of a public institution. This project was funded by INCM – Imprensa Nacional Casa da Moeda, within its framework for collaborative R&D projects, “Innovation Network”.

Characteristics of the Vocational Education and Training Systems
In 2018, Nádia Simões of the Economics Group has participated as an expert in the project “Ensuring labour market relevant VET”, of the European Centre of Expertise and the European Commission. She was involved in the process of comparing the characteristics of the vocational education and training systems of a group of countries of the European Union.
