Aplication Process

All applications must be submitted online.

The application process includes:

Online Application Form
A detailed Curriculum Vitae
Copy of certificates referenced in the curriculum vitae;
Copy of ID card or passport
Two Letters of References (one academic and one professional, preferably)
A text of four pages (Times New Roman, font 11, double space) with two sections:
- Motivation for applying to the DBA (1 page); description of the area and the theme to be developed in the research project;
- the objectives, of the research and contribution than can produce (3 pages).

It is recommended the submission of applications as early as possible, since the whole process of evaluation and pre-selection is carried out on a rolling basis.

What to do if you have a non-Portuguese diploma or certificate?

All applications must be submitted online; applications submitted on paper will not be considered.

Please be aware that if you have a non-Portuguese diploma or certificate, you must provide the following information:

Your diploma or certificate must have the final grade;
You must present a Transcript of records with all courses, grades per course and the duration of your degree;
The documents must have the Hague Apostille or be recognized by the Portuguese local Consular agency;
When the documents mentioned above are in a foreign language other than Spanish, French, English or Italian, a certified translation must be delivered;

The application will not be analyzed if the documents submitted do not meet the above conditions.

Admission Requirements

The DBA is designed for participants who meet the following requirements:

Degree in any field of knowledge;
Professional experience of at least five years post-graduate, in which at least half are in the performance of management functions, involving managerial responsibilities/coordination units, departments or technical teams;
Fluency in English.

Other valuable factors for applicants:

Master in Management;
Publications and/or papers presented at technical, scientific or thematic conferences, seminars and workshops;
Worth of professional experience in the performance of management positions;
Motivation and commitment to attend the DBA;
Quality of the research project.

Candidate Profile

We are looking for candidates with significant business experience who hold an MBA or a master’s degree in Management or a related area. Candidates should be interested in acquiring a research-based, problem-driven qualification that culminates in a doctoral degree and wish to contribute to management as powerful actors in the development of organizations. We are looking for CVs that demonstrate academic excellence, professional management achievements and the desire to be part of our program.

Number of Vacancies

Given the nature and mode of organization of the Program only up 12 candidates will be accepted.

Tuition

The DBA has an annual fee that varies depending on the stage in which the participant is in the Program.

In the 1st year the annual fee is €6.000; in the following years it is €5.000.

The attendance of the program requires a minimum of three years of school fees. If the dissertation has not been delivered within six years after enrollement in the program, it will be canceled. Fees will be paid in two semiannual installments of equal value, on each end of September and March each year, except for the first semester payment to be paid upon registration in the program.
