The “European Citizenship common education program for integrated Europe” (ECCEPFIE) project aimed to create a common and inclusive curriculum for schools to use with students aged 14-18. The project partners include Dubysos school from Lithuania, Real Lublin School from Poland, Adalya School and Antalya Vizyon College from Turkey, and an University partner, ISCTE from Portugal. The project goal was also to implement a joint education program with partner schools to provide European citizenship education, adopt European values, raise awareness of European common culture, and to grow a European identity among the students.

Throughout the time of the project, all partner schools implemented the concept of the “European Club”, with teachers that participated in the teacher trainings currently executing what they’ve learned in their classes, and have the students participate in sharing questions and answers about diversity, identity, European culture, history, cultural heritage, geography and language.

Out of the many outputs of the project, ISCTE was responsible for the assembly and design of the project’s e-book, which contains all of the themes of the teacher training, as well as important information regarding Europe and the European union. The e-book also has a “teachers guide”, which shows how the e-book themes can be applied in real world classrooms, depending on the subject that’s being taught. Many ISCTE teachers have contributed to the contents of the e-book.

Another output was a discord community, developed by the Turkish partner schools, which was built for the students to keep in tough transnationally and exchange ideas, discussions, pictures and culture. This was particularly important has will help students relate to one another at distance, and be more open to diversity while learning about other European cultures and improving their language skills.

Lastly, a mobile application was planned and created by the polish partner school, as a European knowledge quiz, which will allow students to learn more about Europe in an interactive and playful way.

The “European Citizenship common education program for integrated Europe” (ECCEPFIE) will finish in April 2023, the last dissemination event will be a conference held in Brussels, in the European Parliament, on the 26th of April 2023. A Member of the European Parliament (MEP) will be present, Salima Yenbou, as well as Professor Maria José Sousa and post-doctoral fellow Leonor Domingos, from Iscte. The representatives of all partner schools will also be present, and the mobile app will be presented and launched.
