As part of the INITIATE project, Iscte held the workshop Data (&) Analytics on the Green and Digital Transition on June 18, 2024. The aim of the event was twofold: reflecting on the challenges of the green transition and digitalisation for companies and institutions in Portugal and understanding the extent to which Research & Innovation centres in Data Analytics can support and accelerate these processes in companies and institutions. The workshop brought together 20 entities – representing leading experts in these fields from different sectors of academia, associations, and business –, to share their vision and practices. Collectively, it was possible to reflect on the tangible contribution that the establishment of partnerships with the Academy can provide in these areas.
INITIATE is an EC funded project under the Horizon Europe WIDERA programme that is developing research and innovation to improve global competitiveness and visibility of Europe’s higher education institutions. Through stakeholder collaboration between member states and widening countries (with demonstrations in Croatia, Portugal, and North Macedonia), the project focuses on advancing areas such as green and digital transition. BRU-Iscte is involved, with Prof Paula Vicente as local coordinator, and Prof Elizabeth Reis and Prof Abdul Suleman as part of the research team.
