On February 27 and 28, 2024, the first meeting of the partners of the European Commission project INITIATE: Supporting European R&I Through stakeholder collaboration and institutional reform took place in Zagreb. The coordinator of this project is the University of Zagreb. The total EU contributionto the project is 4.57M euros.

The meeting brought together members of all partner institutions, from 8 countries – Austria, Croatia, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, North Macedonia, Portugal, Ukraine, Romania and Slovenia. This key event was the foundation for exciting collaboration, successful project implementation and setting guidelines towards a common goal.

BRU-Iscte is involved in this project as one of the pilot cases that will implement institutional reformby creating a Business Analytics & Data Science Lab. The integrated researcher Paula Vicente from the Data Analytics group is the local coordinator of the project and Elizabeth Reis from the Data Analytics group as part of the team too. 

Team members, project activities and project goals were presented at the meeting. The meeting was concluded with a summary and an emphasis on the importance of disseminating the final results of the project and plans for future steps.
