BRU-Iscte researcher Sandra Loureiro was invited as session chair and award presenter the AIRSI 2026 – The Metaverse Conference. AIRSI2026 is an international conference exploring how Industry 4.0 technologies, from AI and robotics to augmented reality and blockchain, shape value creation, customer relationships, and ethical considerations across sectors such as tourism, healthcare, and education. The event took place on June 1 and 2.

Also present at the conference was PhD candidate Duygu Yildiz, who presented the paper Entering the flow: How influencer embeddedness shapes advertising effectiveness in the Metaverse, co-authored by BRU-Iscte reseaerchers Sandra Loureiro and João Guerreiro.

One of the unique aspects of this conference, which focuses on marketing topics connected to Artificial Intelligence (AI), Virtual Reality (VR), and Extended Reality (XR), is that it is entirely online and also takes place within a metaverse environment. Furthermore, it brings together participants from various countries across all five continents, creating a truly global and enriching experience.
